My Life Has Been Transformed

Santa brought me a BlackBerry device. I love it. There is SO much I don't know about it. I have enjoyed getting to know it this week. One of my favorite things about it is Flycast. I am listening to it on my BlackBerry right now. There's a little hiccup every once in a while, but overall it's great. The sound is very good (for something this size). The channel I really like is Swingin' Pop Standards on the Accuradio menu. Right now, Nat "King" Cole is singing "Unforgettable" to me. It's simply divine. Tony Bennett and K.D. Lang were just on. Norah Jones was the previous singer. You get the drift.

I went and weighed in this morning. This is going to be amazing, but if you follow the nutritional portion of Weight Watchers and exercise, you are going to lose weight. Revolutionary, I know. I'd gained over the past couple of weeks, but today showed a six pound loss. I was very happy. My minimum of thirty minutes of exercise a day really has proven successful. I've actually enjoyed it, except for the other night when I put it off until 10 at night when it was (for me) cold.
I guess I've learned a lesson. I know that I won't lose six pounds every week, but at least I have the template in place.

I just saw a piece on ESPN about how awesome Kurt Warner is. He really is such a nice guy. I know that making multiple millions of dollars a year is not exactly a cross to bear. He has worked with children who have traumatic diseases. He is such a sweet-seeming guy. It's ALMOST enough to make me want Arizona to win today. (I proclaimed that I want them to win already, because every team I've wanted to win in the bowls has lost.) I hope it's at least a good game.

Here are my predictions for the NFL games today:

4:30 Atlanta at Arizona It depends on whether Arizona can contain Michael Turner. If they are successful, I'm afraid they'll be moving on. If not, Atlanta should be playing next week. I hope that Matt Ryan and the boys go on to play next week.

8:00 Indianapolis at San Diego It is unfortunate that Ladanian Tomlinson is not 100%. This would have made for a super game. I think that it will be a good game, but that it would be a better match if LT were his old self. I think I heard on ESPN that something has come detached. Regardless of what is detached or believed to be detached, detached is definitely bad. I predict that Peyton will take his Colts to the next level.

Friday, What's Up!?!

Hi, I'm having a happening Friday. We had our last football game tonight, unless another team in our region can win a game next week. We are not in control of our destiny; someone else is. It's a uncomfortable feeling, but alas, getting in is getting in, right? We'd have to play the #1 seed from the other side of the region which would mean probably having our buttocks handed to us, one in each hand. But then again, there's Appalachain State, so who am I to assume anything. I suppose I'd better wait for us to get into the playoff prior to planning on what's gonna happen when we get there.

This afternoon, Snoopy and I watched an episode of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. I have no idea how long it's been since I've seen one of those. I used to watch it nearly every day. I can't believe it. Wow, it's S-A-P-P-Y! But wow, how entertaining! I forgot how Jim Nabors can light up a screen with his hayseediness. "Well, back in Mayberry. . ." It was an episode that featured his singing. It was a lovely trip down memory lane.

The Child is going through potty training. Actually, it's Supermom who's going through potty training. She said that he's asked OH, SO many times and had nothing to contribute to the potty. Well, that's the price of being a mommy. There are many benefits to being a mommy, potty training is not one.

Tomorrow Granny and Bubba, Sr. are coming for a visit. They've not been in a while, so I'm looking forward to seeing them. Daddy had a port put in so that they can have the home-health care people do the pseudo-dialysis. Well, I'm hoping that this helps Bubba, Sr. to feel better. He's been extremely tired lately.

Watching The Soup. Joel McHale is a genius. What is it about mocking all the stupid shows? I so love him. He's predictable at times, but mostly good.

Saturday!!!

Good day today. I got to the gym before 10:00, which is a minor miracle. I had a very good run of 3.42 miles. I didn't think I was gonna make it. At about minute 11, I felt pretty oogey. I kept going though. It's amazing what your body can do if you don't tell yourself that you can't.


Snoopy called and wanted to go get the cross-country team members who can't afford them shoes. I agreed this would be a good idea. She had talked about going to a Reebok outlet at Darien. I wanted to go, but was wondering WHEN this weekend we'd achieve this. She called and said we might as well do business in this town and get lunch as well. Well, it ended up that to get the big discount two more pairs of shoes had to be purchased. Well, I am now the proud owner of a pair of Brooks shoes. I have run in New Balance up until now. A different world completely! And, since I have monstrously huge feet, I am now wearing a men's size. I'm not sure if it's the difference between Brooks and New Balance or women's shoes and men's, but these shoes are mighty cushy. I'm wearing a men's 9 1/2. I'm virtually a midget (or the more politically correct, "little person"), but my feet are HUGE! I've put them (the shoes, not my feet) on to break them in a little bit.

And then lunch. I go to the same place whenever possible and get the same entree-- teriyaki salmon wrap with a salad of field greens. Not sure if Snoopy totally appreciated it, but I absolutely LOVE it there. It's quiet, cool (both temperature-wise and style-wise), and always good. I love places you can go and the entrees are the same all the time. Every time I go there and inevitably get the same thing, it always tastes the same.

One week until college football. I have to say that I love college football. I'm from Georgia and am one of the four people who actually like Georgia and Georgia Tech. When they play each other, I have to pull for Georgia Tech. Other than that I like to see them both win. Mark Richt is such an awesome guy. This makes me quite the Judas around these parts. Rules demand that you must LOVE one team and HATE the other. Oh well, since when have I followed rules? P.S. I hope that Calvin Johnson (wide receiver for GT) is as awesome in the NFL as Mel Kiper, Jr. and I think he's gonna be!

I'm going to try to get some of my schoolwork done. I'm sure something awesome will come of this!
