It's Been a While

Well kids, it's been a while. Actually, I wish that I'd been doing something fun/exciting/invigorating, but hey, I've just not been feeling the blog thing.

Oh well, just a quick update. I don't know if I've declared this, but I'm doing a 5K on Saturday, May 17th. It's the Savannah Sand Gnats "Insert cute name here". I don't know what it's called, just that I've lain down the gauntlet for myself. To that end, I've been working out more frequently. For instance, Happy Easter, I've run 4.28 miles today. Correction, I've done a combo of run/walk 4.28 miles. today. It's not that bad. It's just funny to me that running during the first 20 minutes seems to make me want to die. Running in the last 15 seems easier than anything. That may be the way that running goes, but it seems counter-intuitive. I have been following the idea of the couch-to-5K mixed with a Fitness magazine deal. But lately, I've just been running when I feel like it, maybe a little longer, and then walk to recover.

I finished reading The Glass Castle. Just heartbreaking. Boohoo. Makes me feel like an ingrate for ever complaining about anything again. Don't worry, I will!

While I was out walking today at the University, they were having a frisbee/football tournament of some kind. There were a ton of kids who camped on-site and it looked as if they had had a capital time. I never did any intramural stuff like that. It looked pretty cool, thought.

Now I'm reading In Cold Blood. It's a little slow, but very deliberate and extremely interesting. It's such a sad story, but after seeing Phillip Seymour-Hoffman in Capote, I knew I just had to read it. I am enjoying it. Actually, I enjoyed reading and watching the basketball games yesterday.

I am never going to fill out another bracket again. It just annoys me. I LOVE the upsets, normally, but this year, I have a bracket and those are killing me. I had Siena, but not much more. One of my brackets died an untimely death with Duke's loss. I knew they were overrated, but my love for Coach K. just overruled my knowing better. I can glory in the hope that Butler will beat Tennessee, but realistically, will that happen? I do like Bruce Pearl, but not enough to root for the Big Orange.

Well, that's enough for now. I wish you all a happy Easter, and my you consider the meaning of the day.

Peace!

Hey!! I've missed you.Glad to see you again.
I think I want to see Capote. Reading Mockingbird makes me want to learn more about him. I need to read some his stuff too.
We need to set up a time to visit face to face, when's your spring break? Maybe we could do something...
I'm still sidelined with this calf thing. UGH! I'm going to be the size of a house and have to start beyond over to exercise!
