Holy Moly!

Okay, I just got back from a LOVELY spring break in Florida. During that time I finished Master Your Metabolism (really about how your body uses hormones) by Jillian Michaels. Oh my word! It has totally changed my life. I cannot believe how many xenoestrogens are out there for us to ingest. I used to laugh off organic, but now, NO MORE! I already have PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) and my trainer suggested that I might have estrogen dominance. Well, duh! She's a genius. No, really, she is. So this book, which I just happen to be reading at the same time, tells me how much our bodies can get confused by all the estrogen-like chemicals out there. I am NOT going to eat anything processed, except for Publix birthday cake. I'm sure I'll indulge now and then, but WOWSERS, this stuff is frightening. I think I'm going to give up my NuvaRing also. You just don't need anymore estrogen that you need. It's so hard for your body to know what's real and what's not real.

The book also reaffirmed my swearing off of diet drinks and fake-o sugar stuff. DEATH. Ugh. That stuff is poison too. The book is really good, because she not only tells you what you SHOULDN'T do, but also what you should do MORE OF. I am telling you, if you have any problems with weight or tiredness or anything like that, RUN, don't walk to your local bookstore and get it!!!!

I'm gearing up by going to the grocery and see what organic fruits and veggies are left at noon on Saturday. We'll see! Plus, I need sustenance to get me through the final 20 days of school with kids.

Oh, joy!

You are so lucky to be single and eat only what kind of foods you want. I'd love to do this....But here's my big beef (pardon the pun-type phrase) with the whole organic thing. If it's so good for us, why is it so much more freakin' expensive?!
